Should SEO Be Your 1st Choice For Traffic?
The harsh reality that Internet marketing is not a "build it and they will come" process sets in fairly early in every new marketer's career. The vast majority of new site owners never ponder the questions about traffic for their first site.
It's not until their stats show little or no traffic that they began to realize there is a little more to the process than just building the site.
Before investing one minute of time in building a site it is vital the question of traffic is addressed; you simply MUST know how your site will attract the traffic it needs.
There are many ways to get traffic. In fact, on one of my coaching calls I address "The 12 Ways to Build Traffic To Your Site".
However, in the beginning, SEO and/or PayPerClick are usually the first building blocks for traffic.
I won't go into great detail here about PPC, but just let me say that a beginner has no business using PPC as his or her first choice for traffic. PayPerClick (AdWords for example) is one of THE most difficult marketing methods to learn. Actually, I will leave out "is one of" and just say that it IS the most difficult.
There is a real science to using it successfully; it requires a very solid foundation of skills and knowledge in many areas in order to profit with it.
That leaves us with SEO. Search Engine Optimization is a skill every new marketer should learn as quickly as possible. Beginning marketers do best when they choose very small niches for their attempts with online marketing.
Not only is the quantity of competition less, the quality of that competition is often quite lower. In heavily competitive areas, not only are there mountains of competition, the best of the best at marketing are often competing in those areas too.
In very small niche areas the vast majority of competitors have little or no SEO training.
It takes little effort for anyone with a basic understanding of SEO to dominate the search engine results.
The small niche area will rarely make someone a millionaire. However, it can produce a consistent and solid profit over a period of time.
Best of all, the SEO skills learned with the small niche can be transferred into larger and larger niches as the beginning marketer gains skill.
SEO is hands down the easiest, cheapest, and quickest ways to attract traffic to small niche sites.
Because new Internet marketers have little choice but to begin in small niche areas, SEO for traffic generation is the perfect and only logical choice for them to begin with.
